Pick a date, and follow the link of the specific party date that appears in the form, after you have chosen your party date. You will make a reservation via the online payment system. You do not need to submit the form, just click on the link that will lead you to the payment page.

Note: party tickets are valid for the duration of the party hours (10.30 pm – 3 am). Day time bath entries will not entitle you to visit the party, and party tickets will not entitle you to make a bath visit during the regular opening hours (6 am – 10 pm). Where are the Budapest Bath Parties?

The location of the spa bath parties in Budapest may alternate by the seasons. All parties are in Szechenyi Spa & Baths. Note: the organisers reserve the right to change the venue of the party, so please check your tickets and your mailbox for updates. See our general seasonal bath party guide for details:

Summer Bath Party Location: in the warm outdoor pools of Szechenyi Spa Baths in the City Park (Pest side) of Budapest, District XIV (14th district). The location a short walk from the Heroes’ Square in the City Park (Varosliget).

Autumn Bath Party Location: in the warm outdoor pools of Szechenyi Baths in the City Park (Pest side).

Winter Bath Party Location: in the warm outdoor pools of Szechenyi Baths in the City Park (Pest side). The pre-NYE Cinetrip bath party on Dec 30 is traditionally in Szechenyi Baths with many thousands of guests.

Frequently asked questions about the bath parties in Budapest.
What are the minimum and maximum age to take part in the bath party?

Minimum age: 18 +
Maximum age: none

The nocturnal VJ Sparty bath parties are cool, fun and unforgettable. There is no upper age limit, but there is a lower age limit set at 18 years of age (if the party guards are in doubt, you will be asked to show your ID/passport as proof of age).
Even though there is no age limit set, the general party crowd is about 20 – 40 years old, mostly 20-30 somethings enjoying themselves.

What is the music like at the bath party?

The spa party music is mostly triphop, funk, psychedelic music, so if like this sort of music and can enjoy the spa bath parties continuously re-painted with colourful laser beams, it is your chance to come and enjoy something unique. A must-see in Budapest, Hungary.

Can I use the whole bath complex during the spa party?
No, only the outdoor pools are open, the indoor thermal pools, saunas, plunge pools, octagonal pools, massage therapies, etc. are closed. Your party ticket is only valid from after 10.30 pm when the party begins and is valid until 3 am when the party ends. If you wish to buy a day time bath entry, you can do so in a separate purchase (day time bath entries bought online automatically include a fast track entry, unlike the party tickets)

What is the Code of Conduct during the Bath Parties in Budapest?

AGE: The minimum age is 18 years old to enter the party.
WEAR: Nudity is not tolerated at the party, swimwear or beachwear is a must. Flip flops are recommended.
ANTI-SOCIAL: Anti social behaviour, harassment will not be tolerated. Please behave decently you would expect at your own house party where you own the house. Don’t forget, you are partying in a historical bath (Szechenyi Baths turned 100 years old in 2013). Anti-social party goers will be removed from the party.
EAT / DRINK: During the party, only foods and drinks purchased on the premises are allowed to be consumed. Please do not bring your own foods, drinks. They will be confiscated. Strict rules they are.
SAFETY: Party tickets include basic health insurance. Please leave behind any objects that pose a safety hazard, such as fragile objects (including items made of glass), sharp-edged objects (knives), or unhealthy items (drugs). Please note that insurance is not ticket insurance. Unused tickets are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: To take photos or videos you will need a special permit. A special permit is usually given to media people, professional photographers, videographers. Ordinary photo shoots are not permitted, sorry. On the other hand, there are photos and videos taken at the event, which may also feature you. By entering, you accepted that you may not claim any rights to this footage.
JUMPING: Jumping in the pool is not allowed. It is a shallow warm pool anyway, and you do not want to hurt yourself or your fellow party-goers. Dancing, on the other hand, is allowed and is fun.

In 2020, all Sparties will be held in Szechenyi Baths. The winter pre-NYE Cinetrip party date will be on Dec 30th in Szechenyi Baths. While summer and spring parties are in Szechenyi Baths offering fun for thousands of party-goers at the same time (capacity of over 2,000 people). If you visit Budapest in the wintertime, do book a ticket online as space is quickly booked up. The pre-NYE party is held in Szechenyi Baths, which is huge, but the tickets all sell out, so again, make sure to book in advance.

Szechenyi Bath Party Dec 30 pre – New Year’s Eve 2020

Szechenyi Baths steam clouded hot spring pools are the special place to be on Dec 30 in 2020.  The party is usually on Dec 30 (not on Dec 31) saying farewell to 2020 in style. Enjoy it as a pre-NYE party of the year!

Szechenyi Bath Parties 2020

Autumn and Wintertime parties (October – February) are also held in Szechenyi Bath. Parties are usually scheduled for Saturdays.

The spectacular Cinetrip Pool Party is 2x a year, one in August, around the Sziget Festival date, and another one on (normally) Dec 30 as a pre-NYE Party. They are HUGE!  No wonder Cinetrip editions are always the greatest hit in the summer and winter, as they are even more spectacular than the regular weekly bath parties with their own fireworks show!

The first Szecska sparty in 2020 starts from February.

Buying your party tickets online includes a locker (or a private cabin in the bonus tickets). Missed one party? No worries, come back to Budapest in a cheap flight, get a great hostel in Budapest, and enjoy the party every Saturday in the summer of 2020!

Please do not buy the day time bath ticket if you want to come to the party. The day time bath ticket is valid until 10 pm, the party ticket is valid from 10 pm until the end of the party. 2 different tickets!

The bath parties / sparties are in both the summer season and the winter season. Szechenyi Bath parties are usually in the summer months (with a few notable exceptions, like the best bath party, the Cinetrip Winter Edition in Szechenyi Furdo), late at night after the official closing hours from 10:30 pm to 3:00 am.

How much is the Entry to Szechenyi Bath Party?

As for the Szechenyi party entry prices in 2020, the party admission fee starts from €50 in Szechenyi Baths. If tickets remain, the price in Forint is HUF 16 000 for the normal (the cheapest) entry. The cheapest category is usually sold out online (single tickets and group discounts). Tickets on the spot are only regular (no fast track, no duo, no trio) tickets, a single entry without extras, if there is any remaining.

The entrance fee is somewhat higher than the amount of the general bath ticket for a weekend bath, and the two tickets are sold separately. See our Szechenyi Spa Baths Price List here. Please note that the Cinetrip Bath Party tickets are more expensive, as it is a special VIP party in early August.

That said, once in a while (1x or 2x a year, there is a special VIP party with amazing shows, lots of extras. These bath parties cost about 3x more than the standard bath parties.)

What should I wear for the Szechenyi Bath Party?

Do I have to wear Szecska bath party clothes, a stylish fashion showpiece with a stiletto, a dancing queen dress, or should I just be bare naked?

No, all you have to bring along is nice swimwear, whatever you would like to don: bikini is just as fine as a one-piece, speedos, long trunks, surf-style swim shorts – it doesn’t matter. Bring some established swimwear. A towel will be very useful too. And maybe a gown, if you tend to be on the cold side on breezy summer nights.

Mind you, the temperature of the outdoor pools is as follows: one of the thermal pools is around 33 degrees Celsius (91 degrees Fahrenheit), the other thermal pool is much hotter, 38 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit). During the Sparty time, you can use the thermal pool dedicated to the party, but unfortunately, the sports swimming pool is not allowed to use.

We also recommend bringing your own flip flops or some waterproof slippers as all of the baths are covered in stone, which may harden the skin on your soles.

Don’t forget to bring your own towel.

Is there safe storage at the Szechenyi Spa Baths?

“So if I wear a swimsuit, where can I put my bag, my documents, my camera, my clothes?” Yes, there are lockers and cabins in the baths where you can safely store all your belongings. That said, we do not recommend bringing along your Rolex watch, or diamond ring and other extremely posh valuables to the party. You will be in the water, you may even drink some glasses of alcohol during the party. It is better not to worry about precious items. And by the way, it is enough to carry around the photocopy of your passport, so there is no risk of losing it in the city.

Can I Buy Tickets for the Bath Parties?

Sure you can. As long as there are tickets left for the party, they are available. However, as tickets quickly sell out, we recommend booking a party ticket in advance, also the currency rate online is pretty good. (the Szecska parties have become so hip and world-famous that we get intrigued tourists from all over the world). All party date links on this page lead to the payment link, where you need to register.

Bath Party Prices in Szechenyi Bath in 2020: €53. Tickets sold on door for Sparty events cost 25,000 HUF/person, include entry and access to an individual locker to store your belongings. Payment is available with cash (HUF) or by credit/debit card. Party tickets are mostly sold out in advance on the internet, with no or very few remaining on the spot.

Cinetrip Summer and NYE Party Price in 2020: there are limited edition tickets for the best party of the summer of thermal pools. The price/date has not been fixed yet.

History of Budapest Bath Parties
The idea of a party in a thermal bath was born in 1994 by L. Laki Laszlo, who later became the founder of Cinetrip. The first Sparty (however not under this name yet) was held in Szechenyi Baths – but only for a bigger group of friends of the organisers.
Regular Sparties for the public audience started in 1998 in Rudas Bath (and occasionally in Gellert, Kiraly and Lukacs Baths).

The secret of the huge success of the Sparty is not merely that it’s the only bath party in the world, but its unique music and the visual world too – featuring video projection mapping. Video projection mapping (the newest visual genre of the 21st century) is a special projection technology that uses different objects (for example buildings, in this case) as a display surface.

Lukacs Baths used to be the home of winter Bath Parties, but in 2018 the bigger Szechenyi Baths became the permanent venue due to high demand and increased popularity of the Sparty series.
