Thank you Gemma, and well done. It’s a brave choice in the current climate. If you’re thinking of starting a general travel blog like mine, no, I wouldn’t. I’d start a niche sales site on something else. And absolutely, start yesterday. This site is an absolute beast. It’s getting on for nine years old now, 700 or so posts, all of which need constant updating. Each country ” block” needs more content adding to it. The workload is phenomenal and completion is fierce. Everyone knows all the tricks now. I rode the first wave, when travel bloggers were just figuring out SEO, everyone knows how it’s done now, or thinks they do. Unless you have something unique. Perfect keywords in mind, start a sales blog on, something that interests you, is expensive enough to give you good commissions, that sort of thing. If it’s just for fun and a bit of top=up money, sure, go for it. But to fully support you, it’ll be tough. I’m not making enough to support us since COVID and the pandemic. But travel, yes, I’d be perfectly happy to travel right now. I trust myself to be safe.

We have dabbled with travelling but have finally made a decision to do it full time, this time next year.

My biggest worry is generating cash on the road. I wanted to ask, is it still worth me travel blogging and should I start now?
