The New SLC is designed to accommodate 34 million passengers and will replace the five existing concourses with two linear concourses—the North Concourse and the South Concourse—which will be connected by a passenger tunnel. The $4 billion project is being built in phases with the first phase to open in 2020 and the second phase to be completed in 2024.

The first phase will include a new terminal, a new parking garage with double the capacity, and portions of the two new concourses. The new concourses will be able to accommodate larger planes and all gates will have boarding bridges.

SLC Fly Healthy Promise

Salt Lake City International is committed to protecting passengers and airport workers from the spread of COVID-19. To promote health and safety, SLC has enhanced efforts to cleaning facilities, added hand sanitizer stations, installed handrail cleaning systems, placed plexiguard shields in key locations and implemented fogging in seating areas. Federal law requires wearing a mask at all times in and on the airport property and failure to comply may result in removal and denial of re-entry. Refusing to wear a mask in or on the airport property is a violation of federal law; individuals may be subject to penalties under federal law.

SLC’s 100th Anniversary

On December 21, 2020 the Salt Lake City Department of Airports commemorated its 100-year anniversary out of a brand new airport. In honor of this achievement, a 100-year history book and video documentary have been created, and we invite you to join in the celebration by viewing them.
