Buna buna, I don’t sorry, because we never needed one. I did meet a few people who ran tours locally. One was a British or American expat who lived in Bucharest. He was very knowledgeable. Probably the best person to ask is Penny who owns The Village Hotel. She’s lived there years and years and was the first hotel in the village, there are dozens there now, sadly. She knows a lot of guides because they all bring their guests to her hotel.

I’m so glad I stumbled across this post. My family is currently living in Romania. We are hoping to visit Maramures in the future. Do you have any suggestions for a tour guide in that area? We here it’s best to visit the area with a local to get the best sense of the culture and history.
