Dogs on leads
Please remember that during the deer birthing season (May to July) dogs must be kept on leads throughout the park. Reminder notices will be posted around the park. Thank you for your cooperation.

Catering outlets
Catering outlets across our parks are open with social distancing measures in place.

From Monday 17th May outlets will be offering a takeaway service, with the majority having socially distanced external seating and some having socially distanced internal seating for inside dining. The full list of open outlets are listed on the Coronavirus Updates page, showing which have internal and/or external seating and customer toilets.

Parkrun
We’re really looking forward to welcoming Parkrun back to the park. We know how much people have missed it but we’re just asking you to hold on for a few more weeks until all Covid restrictions are lifted – on 21 June at the earliest – after which we’ll be able to accommodate Parkrun once again and people will be able to take part safely. Please check back here regularly for further information.

Toilet closures and ongoing upgrades
We have implemented all necessary measures to protect our visitors’ safety and to provide a safe working environment for our attendants. During periods when the toilets are cleaned, we will temporarily close access to the facilities until cleaning is safely completed. We will keep our toilet provision under constant review.

All of our chargeable toilets now work on a contactless system. This accepts credit/debit cards, prepaid cards and mobile wallet payments like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Cash is no longer accepted.From January 2021 to April 2021 we are making improvements to a number of our toilet facilities such as the introduction of touchless taps and toilet flushes, redecoration works and other essential updates to the buildings.

To facilitate these works, toilet blocks will need to be temporarily closed. However, other facilities within the park will be available and signposted. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these improvement works.

Vehicle access to car parks and park roads
Please note that the current Movement Strategy trial has changed the way you can access the park by car, and the road between Richmond Gate and Roehampton Gate is not open to public vehicles at weekends. Please refer to the trial map and plan your journey carefully.

As part of our Movement Strategy we are trialling a scheme that reduces vehicle cut-through traffic while providing access to car parks. Details can be found on our Movement Strategy page for Richmond Park.

Please remember that many of the park roads, whilst closed to general traffic for the enjoyment of park visitors, are still required for access by authorised vehicles. This can include: park staff, park volunteers, White Lodge staff and students, residents and service vehicles.

Free minibus postponed
We have taken the decision to postpone the minibus service for 2021 due to the recent alterations in the road layout at Richmond Park that make it difficult to access the request stops, and concerns over the safety of passengers and volunteer drivers during the current crisis. We hope to resume the service later this year and will update on this when we have news.

Pembroke Lodge Gardens – Bench Appeal
The Royal Parks is replacing benches within Pembroke Lodge Gardens. Many of the benches are over 40 years old and their condition is such that they now need to be replaced.

It is often the case that we no longer hold valid contact details for families of older benches. If you or one of your family members has a bench dedication within Pembroke Lodge Gardens that dates back more than 12 years and you are interested in re-dedicating then please get in touch as soon as possible.

Escape to the great outdoors in Richmond Park with its wide open spaces, grasslands and deer herds, just a stone’s throw from central London.

The park is a top UK site for ancient trees and supports a range of rare species including fungi, birds, beetles, bats, grasses and wildflowers.

Discover the Isabella Plantation woodland gardens, refuel at Pembroke Lodge tea rooms and enjoy distant views of St Paul’s Cathedral from King Henry’s Mound.

Try your hand at power kiting, horse riding or golf, or hire a bike for some off-road cycling along the Tamsin Trail.
