Hot, uncomfortable, crowded, confusing and exhilarating! India is my first and biggest love even though so much it makes no sense. But love is irrational after all!

I’ve not take no my daughter out there yet but we will when the time is right !!

You are so right when you say you have to love it before you come… I was the only one out of our family who wanted to visit; now we are all adoring it. We are currently in a shack on Om beach in Gokarna- it is like paradise (so far – we’ve only been here one day)
Love the photo of you on the train, it says so much….
Ok my friend, essay over (!) love you blog so much, you deserve every bit of praise, you’re the best out there x

I really, truly love it Talitha. I enjoy hard things, I like to suffer a little, face trials, it makes a thing more worth doing in my mind ( climb mountains, have babies without drugs, that sort of thing, I have an I CAN DO THIS atitude). We’re leaving India in 3 more sleeps and already we want to come back. India is vast, diverse and fascinating. Maybe go to Fort Cochi, it’s lovely there!

I have friends who were in India last year and hated it, but then again I have friends who have been going back every year for the last 20 years … I love your posts, they make me wonder whether we shouldn’t try again – for our 25th anniversary?! Maybe … maybe not!

Every traveller to India does that, it’s normal”

Oh yes, I remember that feeling. As an older woman travelling independently, it was hard work. When I left (after three months) I vowed I’d never return. But within days I was wondering how to get to Assam … nothing brings on fits of nostalgia like films from India .. . somehow it gets under your skin.
