Christmas lights in London
See the city at its most sparkly with London’s 2020 Christmas lights at full beam
Even in this gloomiest of winters, London is positively sparkling thanks to its festive facelift in the build-up to Christmas, when the city gets decked out with enough LEDs to give even Las Vegas a run for its money. If you’re looking for something other than Netflix to occupy your evenings now London is under Tier 4 restrictions, a trip to one of the truly spectacular illuminations lighting up our city is just what you need to get those festive feels. There weren’t any of the usual switch-on events this socially distanced season, but do expect light trails and illuminations in the sky to help get you into the spirit of London’s weirdest Christmas yet. We all deserve a bit of sparkle in our lives after the year we’ve had!

1. South Bank Winter Lights
The Southbank Centre is displaying an open-air art exhibition throughout the colder months. ‘Winter Light’ features 17 commissions using light and colour that have taken over the buildings and Riverside Walk. Installations will be added in waves and they’re all totally free to view, socially distanced and on display in the great outdoors. Works will continue to be added until the new year.
