Fraser Island Barges

Barges and ferry services run daily from River Heads (20 minutes south of Hervey Bay) to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.  Services also run from Inskip Point to Hook Point in the south (note: these are run by the Manta Ray not by Fraser Island Barges).

The Fraser Venture runs three return services daily from River Heads to Wanggoolba Creek and the Kingfisher Bay Ferry runs five return services from River Heads to Kingfisher Bay Resort.

How To Get Here

From Brisbane travel north on the Bruce Highway to Maryborough then follow the tourist signs to Hervey Bay. Once on Maryborough Hervey Bay Road, you will come to a well signposted round-about and will need to take the right hand exit to River Heads.

Follow this road and signs to River Heads. Follow River Heads Road to the very end and you will end up in the barge ramp car park. The barge ticket office is on the right hand side as you drive in.
