So you are in Romania now and unable to homeschool because of laws? Is that correct? I’m British, so Romanian homeschooling laws didn’t affect us. There’s not much I can do to help, but if you look at the comments here, there are Romanians in Romania homeschooling legally, maybe they can help you. I’ve never used an umbrella school and don’t really know what they are. My boys are currently enrolled in an online school. It’s school, not homeschooling. So I have no issues at all right now, we’re in a country where homeschool regulation is strict, so it was the best option and because of COVID we are stuck at home anyway, so it works fine. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help but best of luck. I think one lady above mentions a Facebook group for homeschooling in Romania legally.

I love everything you say. But now in 2020 it is not legal to keep my kid at home to homeschool him. And since my son is 7 years old , changing country now. I will have my adress back in Romania . How on earth would i find a school . Umbrella School. Or any way to be able to legally homeschool my kid. I agree fully god damn traditional schooling system is killing the spirit of your kids. How about us parents , we get to decide nothing. Please give me some advice on how should i proceed further. And how should i be able to educate my kid at home without getting into problems with the law. Please email me if you have the time. I will apreciate it so much. I am romanian by the way born in Piatra Neamt. Much love to you . And congratulation to you that you made a living in Romania.

@Laura, this isn’t true, unless you are residents you are still just visitors and the local rules do not apply. We’ve been all over the world these last 7 years. We very much “lived” in Romania, but because we did not have residency or citizenship nobody would even think that we lived there. But we did. The digital nomads just don’t fit with any expectation of what life looks like, rules and laws haven’t adapted to any sort of peripatetic lifestyle in most countries. There are a few exceptions now.

@Olivia, that is amazing! I will check out the FB group and ask for permission to be a part of. We will be living in Bucharest and my daughter is 11 years old. Would be amazing to meet other HS kids on one of your outings and even more amazing if she will make some new friends…(this is what she fears the most, that she will be “friends-less” in Ro. Thank you again so much!!!
