Eurochocolate

Eurochocolate is the event dedicated to chocolate par excellence, the most important of Umbria, if not even of italy. The annual event takes place in Perugia every October, exactly after Summer when is shooting at full speed the chocolate consumption.

The italian and international chocolate traditions are the real protagonists, with laboratories and food stands of chocolate producers that are set up during the manifestation; moreover, for each edition, many themed events, tasting tours, shows, cultural events... animate and involve the streets and the squares of the historic center of the Umbrian capital city.

A rich and welcoming frame as that of Perugia is one of the key factors for the succes of this event, together with the ability of engaging the audience by introducing him to the world of chocolate in a professional and funny way.

The origins of this exhibit dates back to 1994, thanks to the creative intuition of the architect Eugenio Guarducci; since them, Eurochocolate has been able to confirm itself year after year, recording a successful event and continuous growth of public. In the collective imagination, by the time Perugia is "The Chocolate City", turning for the 9 days of the event in a real open air chocolate factory and shop.

Eurochocolate: the most delicious festival in Italy!

Eurochocolate is an annual must for all chocolate lovers, and each new edition is ready to amaze and involve the thousands of visitors with many and fun activities.

Unmissable "events in the event" are the Chocolate Sculptures, for example, made by skilled sculptors who delight to carve blocks of chocolate of 1 m³ of volume to obtain true pieces of art, that will be on display for the entire duration of the event. During the creating processing of the statues, million chocolate chips will be given in free distribution to the public that will reach Perugia in those days.

Important appointment is also the special section Eurochocolate World, in which the cocoa-producing countries will present their habits, customs, traditions and typical cocoa-based products inside the charming ambience of the Rocca Paolina.

3 Things to know before attending Eurochocolate

 

1. Eurochocolate involves the entire city center of Perugia

Corso Vannucci and the beautiful Piazza IV Novembre, Piazza Italia and the surrounding areas, via Baglioni, the Rocca Paolina ... all of these are the areas interested by Eurochocolate. So you can just reach Perugia and walk towards its old town: Eurochocolate will find you !

For those arriving by car, some useful tips to reach Perugia:
Coming from ROMA and FOLIGNO, E45 - Exit Balanzano
Coming from CESENA, E45 - exit Ponte Felcino (Industrial Zone)
Coming from Florence, Raccordo A1 - exit Corciano

 

2. Eurochocolate is free!

No entrance fee, no queue at the ticket office, no vouchers or special pass ... All you have to do is come to Perugia, the admission to the event is totally free.

We advise you to control the individual planned events: for cooking classes, conferences or special events, the seats are limited and may be required to book in advance your participation.

 

3. Tasting and Choco Card

Almost everywhere, in the food stands, in the craft shops, in occasion of special events such as the chocolate sculptures and not only, you can taste the various types of chocolate with free tastings.

For the sweet tooth, and for those who do not want to miss a taste of the most particular types of chocolate, that are present maybe just in Eurochocolate, you can buy the special Choco Card ! At a price of 6 euros, the Card will entitle the withdrawal of many gifts and tastes, as well as will allow its owners to benefit of many discounts for the whole period of the event.
