In my REI 40L bag I was able to fit all 3 packing cubes filled with 2 jeans, 2 leggings, tights, 1 pair of thick flannel pajama pants, 1 dress, 4 long sleeve shirts, 2 cardigans, 1 thick sweater, 4 t-shirts, 4 tank tops, and a weeks worth of socks underwear. The 3 bags easily fit in the 40L bag, with plenty of room to spare for at least two pairs of shoes, a coat, and toiletries.
Honestly, I was shocked. I’ve moved and traveled a lot, priding myself on being a pretty great packer, and, although I maybe could have shoved all those clothes in my backpack without the cubes, there’s no way I could have packed all my stuff in a more organized fashion. I also love these cubes because they make packing and unpacking a breeze, especially if you’re planning on staying multiple places on your trip. The mesh top allowes you to see into the bags, taking the guess work out of quickly getting ready in the morning. These bags also help prevent wrinkling if you pack the bag correctly.
These bags are also super sturdy and lightweight, an added bonus.
