Queensland State-controlled roads and region maps

These map products are produced and maintained by the Spatial Systems Team of Geospatial Technologies Unit within Engineering and Technology Branch.

Spatial Systems is a specialist technical team devoted to cartographic activities. It produces thematic map products in both electronic and paper based format to assist the department administer its major assets—the state's transport infrastructure networks.

The maps enable users to identify relationships between roads, railways, local government areas, towns, cities and the department's operating districts and administrative regions.

This map provides a quick reference for determining the relationship between the department's Program Delivery and Operations regions and districts and their corresponding local governments.

Region and district maps

Program Delivery and Operations transitioned to a new structure of 6 administrative regions and 12 operational districts on 1 July 2014.

Region maps

These maps are designed for strategic planning purposes and for use at A1 or A0 size. They include information for the state-controlled road network by the State Strategic classification, the Roads and Transport Alliance road networks, local roads, railways, Program Delivery and Operations region and district boundaries, local government boundaries, major pipelines and locations of operating mines.

District maps

These maps are designed for detailed planning purposes and for use at A3 or A2 size. They include information for state-controlled and local government roads with detailed insets to provide clarity, railways, Program Delivery and Operations district boundaries, customer service centre locations, Transport and Main Roads-controlled roadside amenities and exit ramp numbering.

State Road Network of Queensland map

This is a large-format, double-sided map that folds into an A4 brochure map.

Produced annually, the map shows the state-controlled road network by state strategic classification, national network, local roads of regional significance along with standard of construction, roadside amenities and both local government and the department's road regions administrative boundaries.
