Product description

Review

This is the best travel journal for kids that we've seen and is great for confident writers aged six and over.--The Independent

This travel journal is perfect for roadtrips, long plane rides, weekend excursions in the woods, and every kind of adventure in between. Kids are prompted and encouraged to draw and write about their most exciting moments, the food they ate, the people they met, the places they saw...Grab one for each kid, each trip, and then keep them as incredible memories of your family adventures.--GeekDad

The scrapbook style layout of this colourful DIY log is dandy for all the family to record the highlights- and relay tow-truck lowlights - of all their summer shenanigans.--Families

5.0 out of 5 stars Pitched perfectly for my 6 and 8 yr old, with a great mix of creative activities

I bought 2 of these ahead of a family road trip to the USA. My girls are 8 and 6 and the language, ideas, and activities are pitched just right for their reading ages.

Each activity is thought provoking but simple, and encourages kids to think and document some of their obvious and not so obvious holiday experiences. The book is set out along the journey, from anticipation, preparation, then experiences whilst away, and finally summarising. Some of my personal highlights are: weather watch charts, flag drawing, quotes and catchphrases, and new experiences.

For a small book it covers a lot of ground and I can’t wait for my 2 to get stuck in. I like the laid back but informative feel of lonely planet books, and it really shows through with this.

Update... so after recovering from the trip, I was pleased with the journal. I think (as always) I underestimated how much parental motivation would be needed to help remember, divert from fighting, and move away from screens, but after prompting my 6&8 YO girls both enjoyed the variety of content. Most of the time my wife and I had to prompt memories but I liked this. After a few days it became a little of our routine and was a good way to keep them busy whilst we sampled the local giggle juice.

Will report back on how it went!
