Love this video of a hatchling making its entry into the sea. You go, kid.

Another 49 hatchlings head into the sea as we bury another clutch of eggs. In the last few weeks we've released more than 200 baby turtles and hundreds more are baking in our hatchery. Our hatch rate-to-buried eggs is about 95%, which I figure is as good as mama turtle could do. Hopefully, we'll have more releases while we are there later this month. Looking at these garden photos, there isn't a better time to be there.

MISSING THE WADIYA!
A guest, who is now a friend, has been coming to Max Wadiya from Bangalore, India, every year for nearly a decade with his family or friends….
Now would have been when he would have come. Sadly this doesn’t look likely to happen.
So he sent us this montage of happy memories!
We would love to see pix/clips from other friends of Max Wadiya posted on Facebook. If we can’t get there right now, maybe we can re-live our memories of good times at Max Wadiya with others!

Max Wadiya is delighted to open its gates once again to visitors. We are proud to announce we have received a “Safe and Secure” certification from the Sri Lankan Tourism Board. Effectively immediately, any visitor who has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be welcome to enjoy an anxious-free holiday at our beach resort. To receive this certification, Max Wadiya underwent a rigorous procedure of precautions and inspections to ensure compliance with the stringent demands of the health authorities. After undergoing a temperature check on arrival, visitors remaining among their own group will not need to be masked, although the staff will wear all the necessary protective equipment
